Grow Hope Kick Off
Dear friends,
This week is our official launch of the 2021 Grow Hope Saskatchewan season. As we enter our fourth year, we marvel at all that has transpired over the last number of years. People all over the world have been impacted in a way that makes their lives more hopeful, and in turn, our hearts have grown in enthusiasm for this project, and we trust that yours is the same.
Last year, you helped sponsor 174 acres. The total revenue generated through donations and grain was $127,260. If it is matched by the full 4:1 contribution from the Government of Canada, this work out to about $636,000 to help end global hunger around the world.
Looking ahead, we are very excited to welcome Canadian Baptist Ministries (CBM) to the table, joining both the Saskatoon Catholic Diocese and agency Development and Peace Caritas Canada (D&P), and Mennonite Central Committee (MCC Saskatchewan) who are already part of this growing ecumenical effort.
To help us end global hunger around the world, we need your help to sponsor the costs needed for this year’s crop.
This year, 215 acres have been offered to the project by three generous farmers and there may be more coming. The farmers will be growing Durum, Canola, and Oats this year. As we kick off the season, we already have 62 acres sponsored. That’s a great start! With your help we can sponsor all the acres available this year.
Sponsor the crop on one acre of land for $300. This includes seed, fertilizer, fuel, and other things needed to grow a crop.
We invite your prayers for the farmers who tend to the fields, for helpful growing conditions, and for God’s blessing to be received by both the givers and the receivers.
Sincerely,
Rick Guenther
